Mario Monicelli, one of the most famous Italian director died yesterday at the age of 95. Monicelli was born in Viareggio (Tuscany) on May 16, 1915 and in his career he worked with the most important italian actors of the 20th century: Totò, Vittorio Gassman, Alberto Sordi, Marcello Mastroianni, Ugo Tognazzi, Monica Vitti, Anna Magnani, Giancarlo Giannini, Stefania Sandrelli, Vittorio De Sica, Sophia Loren, Enrico Montesano, Gian Maria Volonté, Paolo Villaggio, Nino Manfredi and Leonardo Pieraccioni.
Leslie Nielsen died yesterday in his sleep of complications from pneumonia. The famous actor was born in Saskatchewan, Canada on February 11, 1926. In his career he appeared in over 100 films and 1,500 television programs over the span of his career, portraying over 220 characters.

I’m exiting to announce that, after Spain and America, ‘The sweet hand of the White Rose’ arrives to South Africa too! The short has been selected for the “South African Horror Festival” final (push here to read it), the most important event dedicated to all things Horror on the continent. I'm really proud to report that 'The sweet hand of the White Rose' received the Honorable Mention at the american festival "Tabloid Witch Awards" (push here to read the winners). The movie will be screened on October 30 (6 p.m. till 11:30 a.m.), at the Miles Memorial Playhouse, in Santa Monica, CA. This is the comment about our short film:

I'm happy to report that 'The sweet hand of the White Rose' has been selected for the final of the "Festival de Cortos de la Axarquia" (push here to read it). In the four semifinal days there were 28 short films and now just 7: I'm really glad to be one of these seven! The final there will be on July, 2 around 9 pm, into Teatro del Carmen de Veléz-Málaga.
